Tuhog showing in theaters this July 17!

I have been a fan of the "maindie" movie arm of Star Cinema, Skylight Films, ever since they released Corazon ang Unang Aswang as the very first indie film distributed as mainstream. Now, after films like Amorosa, The Strangers and Bromance... here comes another different flavor that Skylight is yet to offer, TUHOG. Directed by Ms. Veronica Velasco, they are into a vision of contributing to local cinema industry by this film of depth, under the so-called "Black Comedy" genre.

Black Comedy is hard to explain as per Direk Roni, however let me try to incorporate Black Comedy in a genuine reflection of life, where the comedy part is that you will realize that it's funny because it's true. Adding a taste of tragedy or drama, this film is set to make everyone realize to live life to the fullest.

That last question was: "Sino ang dapat mabuhay?" (to cast your vote, answer Tuhog's poll: http://poll.fm/f/4akmq) A very mysterious and intriguing film is set to unfold in cinemas this July 17. Fiesta played by THE Eugene Domingo, Mr. Leo Martinez as Tonio and Enchong Dee as Caloy. Tuhog also stars Empress, Jake Cuenca, Noel Trinidad, Rodjun Cruz, Manuel Chua and more.
It was said that this film is leveled to other Asian films, to improve the quality of our local film industry, this film's attempt is to give an international feel to all moviegoers who are already fed up of common romantic, comedy or drama films we commonly have in mainstream. The cast said that they fell in love to the movie and even if it was hard to shoot it, they still gave their best efforts just to beautify the film.

Eugene Domingo said, "Bigyan nyo kami ng chance, dahil sobrang ganda ng pelikulang ito."
Jake Cuenca also revealed that working with Eugene Domingo is one of his dreams, and with Tuhog, he was lucky enough to be her love interest.
Sir Leo Martinez said, "Akala ko talaga comedy, yun pala drama tong napasukan ko.Di ko nga alam kung bakit ako, si Eugene ang na-cast dito."
Enchong and Empress both agrees that they have done scenes in the movie that they have never done before in their entire career, all for the film to be close to reflecting reality. The cast agreed that everyone can relate themselves to the movie characters and more so, have a self realization.
Quoting Enchong Dee, "Life is short, and unhappiness makes it shorter."
The movie is offered with misfortunes, dark-characters with personal issues and a tragic accident.. but after it all, I do believe that this film has an inspiring story to tell.. I am in full trust of this film to give Pinoy moviegoers a fulfilled movie experience like-no-other! Please do support TUHOG, showing in theaters this July 17, 2013!

*I am personally happy that the movie's theme song is Scared To Death by KZ Tandingan :)
